Today, I went to Target, one of my very favorite stores. I can never leave the store without spending over $50. Today, was no different. The boys needed extra swim suits and shorts. Who can resist Target's prices!! Oh! And their thirsty thick cotton towels are on sale. I grabbed a half dozen for the beach house.
While I was back in the home goods department, I noticed that they had their Bissel vacuums on sale and offering a $20 gift card. I've been reading about how the Bissel vacuums have special features which make vacuuming pet hair a breeze. Those of you with Labrador dogs know how hard their fur is on vacuums. I have to vacuum everyday and still there is dog hair tumbleweeds.
Since I have to get a vacuum for the beach house, I decided to purchase one of those Bissel's. I didn't expect to have to assemble the vacuum, but there is some assembly required. I powered that new baby up and took it for a spin around my family room. I was amazed at how quickly the canister filled up with dirt, dog hair and crud. I emptied the canister six times on that one room. I could really see a difference in how clean the carpet looked. It looks like I'm going back to Target tomorrow to get a second one.

Getting Ready for Camp
Did I tell you that this year the boys will both be going away to camp? It sure is going to be quiet around here while they are away. This week, we've been gearing up for their camp adventure. We bought mosquito netting, hiking boots, and various other miscellaneous camping supplies. Can I admit that I am excited about having some 'alone' time?

Say a Prayer for me
Well, my gynecologist called me with my mammogram results. The radiologist is requesting magnified views of my left breast. I called immediately to schedule but I still have to wait until July 10th for my appointment. I am not good at waiting. I am trying not to worry. So, if you can, say a prayer for me. I promise to keep you updated.

School's Out for Summer!!
School's Out for the Summer!!
We are at the beach!! Wahoo!!
This is the life!! Awesome weather! The boys rode their bikes to the pier and did a little crabbing. They caught about a dozen and a half crabs. We cooked them up in the pot on the grill, the boys enjoyed their feast!
We play tennis in the morning, bike up to the beach, hang out, come back, swim a little or whatever. It is the Best!! You ready to join us??!!

Oh, I have to tell you about my insane hillbilly style adventure last Friday. Our favorite furniture store here at the shore was having their annual scratch and dent yard sale. Being the savvy shopper, always hungry for a sale, I drove down to the beach on Thursday in hopes of acquiring many of those items off my furniture wish-list. I arrived early at the sale and patiently waited with about fifty or so other die-hard shoppers also eager for those fabulous finds until they let us in at 10:00am.
Within minutes, I had located a bunk bed (twin over full)in the exact style and color desired. A thorough inspection revealed only two minor scratches on one side--barely noticeable--hey, at 65% off the regular retail price, I can deal with a couple minor scratches. I snagged that deal real quick.
Shortly thereafter, I found a king sized sleigh bed at 80% off its retail price with a minor scratch on the back of the headboard piece. I found two night stands for 75% off retail without anything wrong with them. I guess they were in the sale because they lacked coordinating pieces Snagged those all up fast! ...and then, I found out a minor detail about the sale...cash & carry --no delivery whatsoever!
No delivery! EEKS!! I have the little car...and it is just little ol' me!!
Just as I was contemplating what to do, I happened upon a beautiful kitchen/dining room table with two leaves easily priced 80% less than retail. In my mind, I knew that there was physically no way possible that all of the furniture would fit in the Lexus. I also knew that there was just no way possible that I could lift the table by myself. I bought it!
No, I wasn't on a sale crazy high. I rationalized that I could take the furniture in two loads or simply rent a van or uhaul if need be. I would still be saving $$. I also prayed real hard that one of my (beach house) neighbors would be home and available to help me at least move the table into the garage--the other items, I could easily carry myself.
All those pieces cost me just under $815--no joke!! I explained that I would probably need to take the items in two loads or rent a van/uhaul. They looked at my car, eyed my roof rack and hatch and told me that it just might all fit in one load.
Up on the roof goes the table upside down. The head and foot boards of the bunk bed are tied and anchored up along with the table on the roof. Meanwhile, the sleigh bed, the rest of the bunk bed parts, the two table leaves, and one of the night stands completely fill the back of the Lexus. Miraculously, the other night stand fits in the front passenger seat. You couldn't close the back hatch but it was all in or on the car somehow!!
What a sight!!
Even more miraculously, I made it to the beach house without any sort of mishap. One of my wonderful neighbors came over and helped me unload. What a lifesaver!! He was amazed at the 'deals' I had scored--but he was also scratching his head a bit at it all squished or tied to the car until I explained that they weren't doing any kind of delivery for the yard sale. He joked that our other neighbors were probably inside laughing at me while questioning my sanity and whether I was related to the 'Beverly Hillbillies'!!

Can I have a Monday Re-Do?
OMG! I want a Monday Re-Do!!
Wouldn't that be nice if we could just call a re-do day every once in awhile? I wouldn't want more than say one per month....and maybe not even that often! LOL Yeah, I know, no do-overs in life. Darn!!
Overall, it wasn't such a bad day. It just got off to a bad start.
Spring fever is here!! I edited a book report earlier today. YIKE-A-ROONIES!! My red pen played a serious game of war editing. Seeing as how it is due on Tuesday, I am hopeful that my strong suggestions were enough.
Oh!! To be a child! Time is not their enemy. Rather, it stretches, bends, and winds around just for them. "To be Late" is a rare concept; seldom bothering them.
Mother Nature played havoc along the Chesapeake Bay today. Drenching rains cancelled the Red Sox afternoon game. While tornadoes tormented those to the south. Thankfully, friends and family are safe.
Brag Moment--
Challengers won our game on Sunday!! 6-1 Awesome Game!!
I went to Dick's Sporting Goods today and bought a new game ball. I promise to keep it safe from Cody. He just has an awful tendancy of trying to eat the ball. He likes to play soccer, too. Although, he is a bit of a ball hog. It is pretty hysterical to watch.
Awesome weather at the beach this weekend. We tried out a colorful local restaurant, Crabby Dicks. You can imagine the memorabilia decorating it and the wearables for sale. LOL
Cody still whines in the car. We are working on how to fix that. Trust me, it makes a stressful car ride. Hope may be in sight, as on the way home, he settled down and seemed to relax. I'm still going to ask the vet for other options.
I'd hoped to spend the weekend putting blinds up---maybe this weekend. I'm not complaining as I saved a lot by ordering them online. I just didn't realize that the manufacturer would take ten days production time. Once they arrive--and meet my standards --I'll let you know!! Hopefully, I will also be ordering more blinds from them, too. (I only ordered the main floor blinds to start).
Made a visit to the Millsboro Carpet Mart. Imagine an entire warehouse loaded with every imaginable carpet and then some, all at discount pricing. To say the place was HUGE is an understatement! I went with the hopes of finding one of three rugs. I had room dimensions and potential rug dimensions with me. I ventured into the remnant section and found all three for less than half of what I expected to pay for just one!! I also found a gorgeous potential rug for another room. But since I haven't yet purchased furniture, I didn't buy that one. (yet)
I know!! You want to see pictures. I plan on taking pictures next weekend. I can't believe I brought the camera yet again and didn't take a single picture.

"Broken Tacos"
Remember how I was in search of a box to mail something. I've found it!! And the best part is that I didn't have to buy it! Nope!! It is a box that I am recycling. Kewl!!
Broken Taco Tale
I must tell you a funny tale that happened just last week. Those of you with 'tweens and teenagers will definitely relate.
I was making dinner. We needed it to be a quick one so I decided to make chicken soft tacos. Everything was going good. I finished browing the meat and had just just announced dinner ready.
I reached for the package of soft taco sized tortillas. Uh Oh!! There were only two left. No way would that feed my hungry brood. I had just bought that package two days prior. Hungry eyes stared at me in surprise while each of their faces expressed guilt at scarfing several tortillas.
What to do?
My stash of hard shell tacos was gone.
Two sets of guilty faces admitted making them disappear.
I checked for bread.
Nada!
Wait!!
Isn't that a bag of Tostitos?
Afterall, what are hard shell tacos made out if not corn tortillas baked to a crisp?! So, we had 'Broken Tacos'
Oh and yes, I bought two big bags of the soft tortillas at the grocery store; one for dinners and one for snacking.

Happy Wednesday
I don't know how much creativity I will get done today. There is hope; but, I really do need to get some housework done.
Oh!! Remember those greedy snack food urchins, well, they claim there is absolutely nothing to eat in the house. I think those urchins have some bizarre form of blindness. I just checked the pantry. All six shelves are full, simply jammed-packed with quite the assortment of edible delights.
Ahh!! It is all healthy stuff. They want greasy potato chips, inch-thick frosting covered pre-packaged brownies, and boatloads of candy. The likes of which, are recipes for a complete acne war zone breakout to any teenage face. Sorry! I'm not buying it.
